How To Calculate The Fertilizer Rate

All right, so a little math is needed to get the proper amount of fertilizer on your lawn.  This will not be as painful as it could be.  Just a few equations and measurements will make the process simple.

Maintaining the bluegrass lawn will require approximately 3 to 5 lbs. of Nitrogen per 1000 square feet  on an annual basis.  The actual amount applied is spread out over the three fertilizations that we spoke about in this blog.   If your lawn is high maintenance, then we suggest using the higher rate of 5 pounds per 1,000 square feet of lawn. Otherwise, use the 3 to 4 pounds per thousand square feet.

If you have toiled and cared for your lawn, but still have poor results.  We realize this can be exhausting and frustrating.  It may not be an issue of fertilizing, timing of fertilizing, or rate of fertilizing.  It could be something as simple as it needing de-thatching and aerating services.  WE DO PROVIDE THESE SERVICES.  You can read more about de-thatching clicking here.  Or more about aerating by clicking here.
